Our Commissioners
- Are the volunteers responsible for governing the state agency – Volunteer Iowa (or ICVS) – which is responsible for administrating Iowa’s National Service and volunteer programs.
- Are empowered by federal and state statutes to set priorities and determine what programs best meet the needs of Iowa.
- Are appointed by the Governor to three-year terms that begin on July 1. Every year, a few commissioner positions are available. If you are interested in serving as a Commissioner, you can apply anytime!
