Volunteer Management Certification Courses in Marshalltown

A new opportunity begins this spring for individuals interested in Volunteer Management. In addition to four scheduled courses, participants also have the option of beginning the process to earn a Certificate in Volunteer Management. Sponsored by Iowa Valley Continuing Education and the Marshalltown Area United Way, the Volunteer Management program enhances the professional development of volunteer coordinators, volunteer managers, agency directors and volunteers.

During spring 2007, four core volunteer courses will be offered, with additional courses offered during the fall. Spring courses include Recruiting/Screening/Placing Volunteers on March 22, Planning and Enhancing a Volunteer Program on March 29, Orientation and Volunteer Training on April 5 and Supervision and Support of Volunteers on April 19. A program brochure is available that details each course and instructor.

Tuition for each course is $30 and includes all materials and continental breakfast.
All courses will be held in room 805 in the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Center.

To earn a Certificate in Volunteer Management an individual must complete six four-hour volunteer courses (including core) plus 20 hours “other” options for a total of 44 hours.
