Training
Senior Corps members in Iowa are invited to participate in special training events offered by the ICVS and our partners. These trainings offer you a great chance to meet other Senior Corps and other national service members. Typically, we hold the Iowa Nonprofit Summit in the fall and the Iowa National Service Leadership Institute in the spring. Contact us to find out about upcoming training events, or visit the “Training & Promotion” section of our website (link to training and promotion section).

Recognition
We want to make sure that your volunteer efforts are recognized! Your service may allow you the honor of receiving one of the following awards.

Governor’s Volunteer Awards: The ICVS works with the Governor’s office, and partners like your local Senior Corps program, to offer the Governor’s Volunteer Awards. More information can be found on our Volunteer Recognition page.

Spirit of Service Awards: The Corporation for National and Community Service has a program to recognize outstanding Senior Corps members and alumni. Visit the CNCS website to find out how to nominate one of your fellow Senior Corps members, or other national service representatives, for the Spirit of Service awards. http://www.nationalservice.gov/about/spiritofservice/index.asp
