Orange City, IA
At Northwestern College in Orange City, we had about 15 students attend our MLK Day of Service. We volunteered at Justice for All in Rock Valley. Justice for All is fully run by volunteers. They coordinate and send work teams to our local community and around the country to renovate or build houses, buildings for community organizations or cities. They also collect donations from around northwest Iowa and redistribute them to families or individuals in need in our community and abroad.
Our group was able to be a part of the work done in the donation warehouse. We spent several hours sorting and repackaging boxes. Some of the boxes were going to be distributed in northwest Iowa and some were being sent to an organization in Arizona. We repacked over 60 boxes. We worked for a total of just over 30 hours.
