Urbandale Public Library's Collection Drive
Urbandale, IA

On January 17, 2011, the generous people in the Urbandale community donated approximately 1330 items, including over 156 scarves, hats, mittens, etc., 609 personal care items, 459 food items, and 87 art supplies for the Urbandale Food Pantry to distribute. Financial contributions for the Pantry totaled $147. Also donated, were 19 coats and sweatshirts that were given to the Urbandale Clothes Closet.

More than 100 volunteers brought in donated items. Several volunteers knitted scarves and hats on site throughout the event. An additional eight volunteers helped at the front table by counting, packing, and delivering items to the Urbandale Food Pantry and the Urbandale Clothes Closet after the event.
