Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge’s Day of Service Project
Prairie City, IA

Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge had a wonderful Day of Service, thanks mainly to the great coverage in the Des Moines Register! Volunteers helped the Wildlife Refuge clean seeds and prepare them for spring planting on their prairie.

“Everyone seemed to have a great time, and enjoyed their visit to the refuge as well. We had a total of 20 volunteers who each contributed 3 hours of their time, for a total of 60 hours of service. Thank you for making me aware of this volunteer day, and helping put something together. You have great resources on the website!” -. Megan Wandag, Visitor Services Specialist at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge
