Iowa Campus Compact
Iowa Campus Compact (IACC) is a statewide association of college and university presidents who are committed to fulfilling the civic purposes of higher education by educating students for active citizenship and building strong communities. Iowa Campus Compact's mission is to foster in students the values and skills of civic engagement through active involvement in community service and service-learning.

Other College Opportunities
Even if your college is not a member of Iowa Campus Compact, there are likely many volunteer opportunities available. Find information about volunteer and service learning offered around your college or university by:

  • Visiting the Civic Engagement or Student Volunteer Services office at your campus
  • Be sure to ask about Alternative Spring Breaks!
  • Checking to see if your school offers the chance to participate in the 10,000 Hours Show, a student-led effort in several campus communities to recruit and recognize volunteers at an annual free concert.
    • In 2010, there were three 10,000 Hours Shows involving Iowa students
      • The 10,000Hours Show of Central Iowa (run by Drake University and Iowa State University)
      • The 10,000 Hours Show of Eastern Iowa (run by the University of Iowa)
      • The 10,000 Hours Show of the Quad Cities (based at Augustana College)
