About Learn and Serve
Service learning is a special way for you to become more informed and help your community in the process. In a service learning project, not only do students take the lead in identifying a real-life problem to study, you also get to take hands-on steps to fix the problem. After helping to plan and complete service projects related to the issue, you’ll then take time to reflect upon all that you learned.
You might be able to participate in service learning projects through your school, college, or through youth groups like 4-H. Ask your teachers and community leaders about their interest in sponsoring service learning opportunities. Each year, more than one million students like you are able to make important improvements to their communities while building their knowledge through service learning.
