New Statewide Volunteer Web Portal and Posting System Launched

The Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service (ICVS) recently launched a statewide Volunteer Web Portal. The system allows anyone interested in volunteering to easily sign up and get connected to rewarding and enjoyable opportunities in their own community.

The system, Volunteer Solutions, automatically pulls opportunities from local United Way sites or 1-800-Volunteer.org.  The system allows volunteers to register, enter their area of interest and the geographic area they would like to serve, and instantly see a list of organizations currently looking for volunteers.  And, organizations that need volunteers can quickly learn about and contact the people who are interested in helping them.

Volunteers who are ready to help, can get started today at www.volunteeriowa.org – just click on the “Want to Volunteer?” button at the top of the page.

Organizations that wish to post volunteer opportunities through the ICVS Volunteer Solutions system can learn more about signing up at no cost at www.volunteeriowa.org/needvolunteers.html.

If you have questions, please contact the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service at icvs@iowa.gov or 1.800.308.5987.
