Iowa Conference on Volunteer Service
The Iowa Conference on Volunteer Service will be held November 13 and 14, 2007 at The Meadows Events & Conference Center at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona Iowa.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Volunteer coordinators, nonprofit directors or board members, volunteer management professionals, AmeriCorps members and directors, Senior Corps directors, ComServ grantee leaders, Communities of Promise leaders and team members, Mentoring program staff -- ANYONE who recruits/trains/manages national service participants or volunteers and is looking for quality training and networking opportunities.
TWO-DAY REGISTRATION FEES (includes breakfast and lunch both days):
$130 per person (by October 11)
$120 per person for groups of three or more from same organization (discount available until October 11)
$150 per person (after October 11 and on-site)
One-day general registration is not available
$50 One-Day registration for workshop presenters (presenters may attend all conference functions on the day of their workshop at no cost)
EXHIBIT FEES (includes 8 X 10 booth space for both days, electricity, and free wireless Internet access):
$50 per booth for registered conference attendees
$100 per booth for exhibitors not attending the conference (includes lunch for one person each day; extra exhibitor lunch tickets are available for $25 per person for additional staff helping with the booth)
There is no charge for registered conference attendees to bring materials to share on the conference resource table.
NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES:
During the breakfast session on November 14, the Volunteer Centers of Iowa will host a networking session for staff of current volunteer centers as well as anyone interested in starting a local volunteer center.
If your group or organization is interested in hosting a breakfast or lunch networking session of your own, send an e-mail request to icvs@iowalifechanging.com. Please include a description of what you plan to discuss; the types of people who may be most interested in attending; your preference for a lunch or breakfast session; and whether you prefer Nov. 13 or 14.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:
All attendees must make their own reservations for sleeping rooms. PLEASE NOTE EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE: Anyone who is eligible to have their sleeping room direct billed to the ICVS (AmeriCorps*State members and directors and ICVS designees for the Iowa Mentoring Partnership or Communities of Promise) should NOT call the hotel directly but must use the online request form within the conference registration system to request room reservations. The special conference rate of $55, plus taxes is available only through October 11! To receive the special rate, you must call the hotel directly and tell them you are attending the Iowa Conference on Volunteer Service -- online reservations are not available for the special rate. All rooms are non-smoking and have two queen-size beds, a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and hair dryer. Adventureland Inn requires a valid credit card to make a reservation.
