Steering Committee Members and Responsibilities
The Governor's Volunteer Award program is coordinated by a multi-state agency steering committee that is responsible for planning, development, and improvement of the awards nomination process, guidelines, and procedures:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer awards program, including:
- development, improvement, and distribution of nomination materials
- providing training and technical assistance to all agency awards coordinators
- collecting approved nominations from all agency awards coordinators
- coordinating the development and mailing of Governor's invitation letters and ceremony details to award recipients
- coordinating all awards ceremony arrangements with the local committee for each site
- preparing the award certificates
- mailing ceremony photos and/or certificate packets to award recipients following the ceremonies
- preparing necessary documentation to properly invoice each agency for its awards
