Steering Committee Members and Responsibilities
The Governor's Volunteer Award program is coordinated by a multi-state agency steering committee:

The steering committee is responsible for planning, development and improvement of the awards nomination process, forms and procedures.
The lead coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer awards program, including:
- providing training, technical assistance, and nomination materials to all awards coordinators
- collecting approved nominations from all awards coordinators
- coordinating the development and mailing of the Governor's invitations and ceremony details to award recipients
- coordinating all awards ceremony arrangements with the local committee for each site
- preparing the award certificates
- mailing ceremony photos and certificates to award recipients following the ceremonies
- preparing necessary documentation to properly invoice each agency for their awards
