Steering Committee Members and Responsibilities

The Governor's Volunteer Award program is coordinated by a multi-agency steering committee that is responsible for planning, development, and improvement of the awards nomination process, guidelines, and procedures:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer awards program, including:

  • development, improvement, and distribution of nomination materials
  • providing training and technical assistance to all agency awards coordinators
  • collecting approved nominations from all agency awards coordinators
  • coordinating the development and mailing of invitation letters and ceremony details to award recipients
  • coordinating all awards ceremony arrangements with each local committee
  • preparing the award certificates
  • mailing ceremony photos and/or certificate packets to award recipients following the ceremonies
  • preparing necessary documentation to properly invoice each agency for its awards
