Governor's Volunteer Award Coordinators

Even though Governor’s Volunteer Awards are considered “non-competitive”, to ensure the handling fee is charged to the appropriate agency, ALL nomination forms must be submitted through and approved by a state agency, the Iowa League of Cities, or the Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center at The University of Iowa.  Please review the list below and contact the appropriate coordinator for your organization to request nomination materials.

If your agency/organization/affiliation is not listed or if you are having trouble determining the appropriate coordinator for your nomination(s), contact the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service at icvs@iowa.gov or 515.242.4764 (toll-free: 1.800.308.5987) for assistance.

In some cases, the proper nomination form may be available to download below or from the coordinating agency’s Web site.  Or, you may download a “generic” Governor’s Volunteer Award nomination form here.  However, to be honored, the completed form must be submitted through the appropriate coordinator and if required, the handling fee must be attached:

CITY, COUNTY, FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS

NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

STATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

STATE GOVERNMENT staff, programs, and affiliates may submit nominations through the appropriate agency coordinator.  In most cases, the handling fee is covered by the agency coordinating the awards.  The nomination form you receive from your coordinator should specify whether you need to include a handling fee with your nomination(s).
