Concept Paper
Deadline: 3 p.m. August 20, 2008
Annually, the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service (ICVS) grants approximately $2 million in federal funds to non profit organizations, schools, Indian tribes, faith-based organizations, or local or state government agencies to support National Service and volunteer activities in Iowa.
After the recent disasters, the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service is committed to supporting innovative efforts to rebuild and protect communities by making approximately $350,000 in funding available for distribution in this supplemental competition for planning and/or development of transformative projects in geographical areas of Iowa impacted by the disaster. The projects should be focused on capacity building, training and implementation of "Green" projects, designed to improve energy efficiency in rebuilding efforts and storm water reduction and management.
